Baptist Distinctives

BAPTISTS

Number 1 was “BIBLE” – the Bible is the ONLY authority!

Number 2 was AUTONOMY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH

Number 3 was PRIESTHOOD OF THE BELIEVER

Number 4 was TWO ORDINANCES

Number 5 was INDIVIDUAL SOUL LIBERTY

Number 6 was: Saved, Baptized Church Membership

Number 7 was Two offices.

Number 8: Separation of Church and State

God established both civil government and the local church.  They have distinct responsibilities and operations. Neither should control the other. Believers in a free society should influence government toward righteousness, but should not make an unholy alliance for control, influence or favour.  A government should not interfere with the local church’s preaching, activities, and ministry.
